The project involves extending the Karting track at the Sri Lanka Karting Circuit in Bandaragama from 775m to 1215m, which is the minimum standard to host international karting events. The aim of this project was to bring a leg of the X30 Southeast Asia Karting Series to Sri Lanka in partnership with RL Karting in Malaysia .
The timely completion of the project enabled David Pieris Racing and Leisure (Pvt) Limited to successfully hold the event in December 2017.
