This state-of-the-art building in Borella, Colombo 08, functions as the new Head Office of People’s Leasing Company Ltd. It The building was constructed at a cost of LKR 1 Billion and comprises 15 floors and one basement along with a carpark for 30 vehicles, and other recreation facilities within its 93,000sqft floor space.
An extensive glass curtain wall and cable support structure was installed on the west wing of the building. Installation of the cable supporting structure required precision handling during the placing of anchors & inserts and the fixing of I-beams, whilst special measuring equipment was used to test whether the cable support structure had achieved the required tension strength. The outdoor recreational area of the 11th floor contains a cell-type Pergola structure, which can be sheltered for special occasions.
The project was completed on June 2010, whilst the soft opening of the complex was held on 01 August 2010. The building is a fine example of a modern office complex that has come into life through sound design and construction techniques. In 2011, the project won the coveted National Construction Excellence Award by the Institute of Construction Training and Development (ICTAD)
