Part of the Western Province Road Development Project by the Road Development Authority (RDA), funded by the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). This project focuses on rehabilitating critical sections of B-roads in the Kalutara District, thereby increasing opportunities for healthcare, education, and other social service, while reducing cost and improving access to markets for agricultural produce and other goods.
MAGA’s scope of work involved rehabilitation and improvements including surface regulation, asphalt overlaying and surfacing, drainage and shoulder construction for 15km of B-roads sections on the Wadduwa-Moronthuduwa Road and Bellana - Moragala Road. The project also included reconstruction of 100 culverts. Working along residential roads, suburb thoroughfares, and crowded junctions, project teams liaised with multiple stakeholders to minimise disruption to traffic and commerce in the area.
Rehabilitation of these important road sections ensures communities in the area can benefit from renewed transport infrastructure for the years to come.
