The rehabilitation and improvement of 44.2km project of the A-35 Paranthan to Mullaithivu road was completed & handed over in June 2013. The Main Contractor for the project was China National Aero Technology International Engineering Corporation (CATIC).
This road was obliterated during the height of the civil war and the current rehabilitation makes a positive impact on the daily transport, business economy and overall well-being of the people of Jaffna. The project garnered the company the ICTAD Construction Performance Award in 2013.
