The Galle Techno-Park is located in the Galle District, close to the Southern Expressway Pinnaduwa interchange. Construction of the complex was envisioned by the Ministry of Information Technology in line with the National Policy Framework and the President’s vision. It is the first of five Technology Parks to be established across the Island in order to support Sri Lanka’s IT sector and provide youth with much needed skills, knowledge, and opportunities for high-income employment.
The Galle Techno-Park is being built on a unique 30-acre property atop a low ridge on the Walahanduwa Estate area. the project’s architectural vision retains natural vegetation and features of the land, presenting innovative construction challenges and requiring much of the complex to be constructed on pad footings to suit the undulating terrain. MAGA's scope of work as Main Contractor involves construction of the 41,000m2 complex outfitted with state-of-the-art IT amenities, featuring 12 modern office units, an administrative building, large recreational area, and facilities for multiple restaurants and cafeterias. Additionally, the scope also includes construction of internal and access roads, and structural work relating to stormwater drainage, fire safety, and provision of other utilities.
